Joker

Jolly, Joker, Matto e Matta.
Libero artefice del proprio destino, sa chi è, ma non sa dove va. Non conta nulla, ma può assumere il valore più alto, come il giullare di corte può parlare al Re da suo pari.
Imprevedibile ed eccentrico, il Matto è un funambolo. Nel suo percorso ha raggiunto una sapienza che mimetizza con trucchi e tranelli.
Ride: in attesa che ognuno di noi riconosca ed esprima il suo vero sé!

I piatti in ceramica artigianale utilizzati per questa collezione sono sottili come carte da gioco.
Due i formati:

• 16 cm di diametro per il piattino che ospita 9 versioni diverse del Jolly

• un grande piatto/sottopiatto da 33 cm decorato con una costellazione di quei piccoli simboli sempre diversi che corredano le carte da joker.

Le immagini dei Joker provengono da mazzi di carte vintage provenienti da diversi Paesi, e sono stati scelti ed esaltati ciascuno per una caratteristica che li rende unici: la barbetta mefistofelica, lo sguardo sincero, la femminilità, gli abiti miseri. Ma tutti sorridono! 

La collezione è stata realizzata a partire da un’idea di Serena Barbieri, sensibile organizzatrice di cene ed eventi dove mise en place, fiori e cibo vengono abbinati in modo attento e speciale.
PiattoUnico ha assecondato e interpretato il desiderio di Serena, producendo in esclusiva piatti piani e dessert. Abbiamo poi sviluppato piattino da pane e sottopiatto in modo che vivessero anche come collezione indipendente, cercando fonti che ci permettessero di esplorare il tema in modo originale.

La storia della carta Jolly è interessante. Certamente ha ereditato qualche tratto dal Matto dei Tarocchi, una figura importante, libera di essere ciò che ha scelto di diventare. Ecco allora che il Jolly nei giochi di carte pur non avendo un valore, può battere le carte più alte. In Inglese il Joker è definita una “wild card” e forse anche per questo c’è molta libertà di rappresentazione: spesso un giullare, a volte un viandante o un musico; in mano ha una bacchetta con una testa da giocoliere all’estremità ed è contornato dai semi delle carte, gli arcani minori che rappresentano i 4 elementi.
in italiano usiamo anche il termine femminile, la matta, eppure per trovare una donna Jolly abbiamo dovuto cercare parecchio ;)

La dispensa di Serena Barbieri

Joker, Joker, Fool.
Self-made, he knows who he is, but he doesn't know where he's going.
He counts for nothing, but he can assume the highest value, as the court jester can speak to the King as his peer.
Unpredictable and eccentric, the Fool is a funambulist. In his path he has reached a wisdom that camouflages with tricks and traps.
He laughs: waiting for each of us to recognize and express his true self!

The handcrafted ceramic plates chosen for this collection are as thin as playing cards.
Two sizes available:

• 16 cm for the small plate that houses 9 different versions of the Joker

• a large 33 cm plate/underplate decorated with a constellation of those small symbols that accompany the joker cards.

The images of the Joker come from vintage decks of cards from different places and sources and have been chosen and exalted each one for a characteristic that makes them unique: the mephistophilic beard, the sincere look, the femininity, the miserable clothes. But everyone smiles! 

The collection was created from an idea of Serena Barbieri, sensitive conductor of events and dinners where mise en place, flowers and food are combined in a careful and special way. PiattoUnico has responded to and interpreted Serena's wish, producing exclusive dinner and dessert plates, plus developing the small dish in our own way, looking for different subjects that would allow us to explore the theme.

The history of the Joker card is interesting, and that's proven by the many graphic interpretations. He certainly inherited some traits from the Tarot Fool, an important figure, free to be what he chose to be.
In card games, although not having a value, the Joker can beat the highest cards. It's a "wild card”: he's been portrayed as a jester, sometimes a wanderer or a musician; he often keeps in his hand a marotte and he's surrounded by the suits of the cards cards, the minor arcana, representing the 4 elements.
